I can't say 'no', apparently, when it comes to making these granny square cushions - they're totally addictive; so much so that I made a further two this week.
Firstly, for Mini Diva - she prefers the pink & red side vs. the purple & pink side; I just like that it perfectly fits the duck feather cushion pad:
And this one - the color of which is the subject of my last blog post - is for my youngest niece, who has a purple-themed bedroom:
I was rattling away, and did 16 rounds (I thought) exactly as I did for Mini Diva's cushion - and the result just shows that me and Gauge are just SO not friends. It seems we're not even mere acquaintances: it's too large for the duck feather cushion pad, and even generous on the 18'' man-made one.
But now I really must try to say no to any more cushions for the time being, as yarn has arrived for me to complete Auntie Fashion's Blankey. And the habit these granny square cushions have of proliferating reminds me of the famous 'Trouble with Tribbles' ...
I doubt you'll see any Tribbles over at Tami's Amis ....

Now you have to work out whether it's a passion for the color purple, or a passion for those blimmin' addictive Granny Square Cushions or maybe even both - as I show you Cushion Number 3 in progress:
'Course, it's not my passion for purple - I am still afflicted by my Mother's opinion that purple is a color for adolescents, in the same manner that Tchaikovsky is music for emotionally immature people. Although I happily grow both gladioli and dahlias, which she thought were vulgar. I wonder if they come in purple ?

Just a lil ole quick and snappy post for today, to let you know that I did it: completed my first crochet project.
Below you can see photos not only of the vintage (we're too polite to say 'old and knackered') plastic garden chair, but the superb embellishment that is Destructo Boy's new cushion for his bed:
All I had to buy for this was the cushion pad and 5 buttons. It really was straightforward: a great beginner's project for sure. As will be my next one: which one do you think I should
try ?

As the ransom note for Auntie Fashion's Blankey seems to have been ineffective, no more yarn has been forthcoming; thus it reposes in exactly the same state as you saw it last.
No problemo, as that has allowed me to obsess focus on crochet; mainly, the granny square cushion from ''Granny Square Love'' by Sarah London. As you will see from the pictures below, the front is complete, and I am quite far through the back too:
I find it an interesting aside that I have so far forgotten to list this as a project on my Ravelry page: is this because I am very much at the start of my crochet journey ? Is it because it isn't knitting therefore it isn't a real project ? Is it that a simple cushion isn't a worthy enough project ? Or maybe it's simply the advance of senility, as indicated by my use of these:
They maybe trendy, pink, and have sparkles on the sides. But they are still reading glasses.
